Community Midwives

Community Midwives are attached to the Practice and are concerned with the wellbeing of all pregnant women registered here. They run antenatal clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays, conduct complication-free deliveries and visit mother and baby in the early days after birth. They can be contacted on the following numbers:

Community Nurses

The three District Nurses are involved in all aspects of care in the community, including the long-term sick, disabled, housebound or terminally ill Contact directly or telephone 771449

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors can advise on the health and development of children of all ages, both at home and in the Well Baby Clinics. They are also available to advise on all aspects of family and individual health and may be contacted on 788688. With the exception of Thursday mornings, there is normally a Health Visitor to be seen at the Health Centre, without appointment between 9am and 9.30am.

Attached Staff

Speech and Language Therapy: Two therapists work here on a part-time basis. If there are any concerns about a child’s understanding, use of language, speech sounds, voice or fluency (stammering) contact can be made via your doctor or Health Visitor or you can contact the therapists direct on 788681.
Podiatry:
Our Podiatry (Chiropody) team provide a service for the following groups:

- Those with Diabetes or poor circulation in their legs;
- Those with foot & knee problems affecting their walking;
- Those requiring nail surgery.

Your doctor or other health professional can refer you for treatment.
